Test Host Configuration
- Alibaba Cloud ECS instance: ecs.c6.2xlarge
- 8 vCPUs, 16 GB of memory
- Disk I/O: 106 MB/s
- Bandwidth: 100 Mbps
Test Conditions
- Publish 1 single stream with a resolution of 360 * 180, a frame rate of 15 fps, and a bitrate of 300 kbps to a room, and perform single-stream recording.
- Publish 2 single streams with a resolution of 360 * 180, a frame rate of 15 fps, and a bitrate of 300 kbps to a room, and perform mixed-stream recording, with the mixed-stream output video having a resolution of 640 * 360, a frame rate of 15 fps, and a bitrate of 600 kbps.
Concurrent Recording Performance
| Recording Mode | Test Result | Recommendation |
|---|---|---|
| Audio/video single-stream recording | When concurrently recording 350 rooms, stuttering occurs in the recorded video files. | It is recommended to concurrently record 300 rooms. |
| 2-stream audio/video mixed-stream recording | When concurrently recording 45 rooms, CPU usage is 75%. | It is recommended to concurrently record 40 rooms. |
| 2-stream audio-only mixed-stream recording | When concurrently recording 230 rooms, CPU usage is 85%. | It is recommended to concurrently record 200 rooms. |
Conclusion
Based on the test host above:
- The performance bottleneck of single-stream recording mainly comes from bandwidth. If more concurrent single-stream recordings are needed, greater bandwidth is required. Meanwhile, pay attention to disk I/O usage.
- The performance bottleneck of mixed-stream recording mainly comes from the CPU. If more concurrent mixed-stream recordings are needed, a higher-performance CPU is required.
